Jobs in this group are typically responsible for managing and operating laboratory facilities used for research, teaching, or for assisting in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. They ensure equipment maintenance, adhere to safety protocols, and support quality control.
ResponsibilitiesThese roles involve the study and analysis of tissues at the microscopic level to diagnose diseases, research medical conditions, and understand biological processes. Candidates prepare, stain, and examine tissue samples, providing critical insights that support clinical diagnoses and scientific research. Individuals with a clinical discipline or specialty may also diagnose, treat, and care for patients, design and implement clinical programs, policies, and services, and lead daily operations.
Minimum Requirements- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree may be required.
- At least eight years of experience; supervisory experience preferred.
- Relevant licensure or certifications required.
The job requires sitting or standing for prolonged periods and frequently bending or stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly; ability to lift, push or pull 50–100 pounds. May be exposed to chemicals, radiation, blood or body fluids and infectious disease.
CompensationPay range is $28.96 – $46.34 hourly, determined by qualifications, experience and education.
