We are looking for you to join our team as a Quality Inspector 4 to support manufacturing operations at our Waynesboro, VA facility. What You'll Get To Do:
* Perform first article inspections (FAI) per AS9102 and first piece inspections to include a review of the associated product build documentation.
* Confirm acceptable quality standards and workmanship practices in assigned work centers by learning/practicing process specifications and using workmanship standards during everyday job functions.
* Inspect machined or partially machined parts, using predetermined methods and sequences to ensure compliance with customer and company specifications and quality requirement.
* Use predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to inspect visually in-process and completed products such as electronic units and subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies or mechanical units, subassemblies, structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds.
* Use various measuring devices.
* Accept, reject, or rework defective or malfunctioning units or systems.
* Work from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists.
* May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Perform line clearances after each lot to ensure all materials from the previous lot have been removed.
* Inspections may also involve compound angles or three-dimensional projections using inspection equipment such as microscopes, micrometers, telescope gauges, and optical comparators.
* Use your understanding of GD&T and the ability to read and comprehend detail control plans, work instructions, drawings, Bill of Materials, Specifications and related criteria. This position is contingent upon proposal/task award. Basic Qualifications for a Quality Inspector 4:
* High School Diploma/GED plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in mechanical inspection, assembly, machining, or hands on manufacturing or an Associates Degree or higher in a relevant STEM major with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in mechanical inspection, assembly, machining, or hands on manufacturing
* Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
* U.S. citizenship is required.
* Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods of time
* Must have the ability to lift up to 45lbs
Preferred Qualifications:
* 5+ years in developing inspection plans and/or supplemental FAI inspection instructions based on part engineering documentation
* 3+ years experience utilizing CMS inspection equipment, such as CMMs, articulating arms, laser trackers, and/or 3D structured light systems
