The laboratory of Richard Mailman, Professor of Pharmacology and Neuroscience at the University of Virginia, School of Medicine, is seeking a post‑doctoral scholar who is interested in diseases of the brain and the development of novel therapeutics. The lab focuses on mechanisms of drug receptor interaction and the discovery and development of CNS drugs. We have collaborated extensively with other labs and are now poised to continue our advances in brain disorders and their molecular, biochemical, and behavioral manifestations.
MINIMUMREQUIREMENTS
- PhD and/or MD (or equivalent) with the degree in hand by the start date.
- Excellent graduate training in neuroscience, pharmacology, physiology, or related disciplines with an interest in brain disorders and potential therapies.
- Postdoctoral employment limited to individuals who have earned a doctoral degree within the previous five years.
- 12‑month appointment with the possibility of renewal for up to two additional one‑year increments, contingent upon satisfactory performance and availability of funding.
- Salary commensurate with education and experience.
We are recruiting a scientist to work on the post‑doctoral study in the Mailman laboratory, focusing on diseases of the brain and the development of novel therapeutics. The position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and must be performed fully on site.
The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment. A completed pre‑employment health screen is required.
