The Department of Dermatology at the University of Virginia (UVA) School of Medicine invites applications for a federal‑funded postdoctoral research associate position in the laboratory of Dr. Lu Le, Professor and Chair of the Department of Dermatology.
Dr. Le’s lab investigates how genetic and microenvironmental factors interact to regulate tumorigenesis. The research focuses on identifying the cell of origin and elucidating the role of the tumor microenvironment in cancer development using Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1) as a model. In addition, the group explores mechanisms underlying hair graying and balding, with the goal of identifying potential treatments for age‑related hair loss.
Minimum Requirements- Doctoral degree
This is a 12‑month appointment with the possibility of renewal contingent upon satisfactory performance and availability of funding. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. The position is exempt and includes full benefits as described in the UVA benefits package.
Physical DemandsExtensive periods of standing, squatting, bench work, and animal procedures requiring fine finger manipulation. Keyboarding and other routine laboratory tasks are also required.
