Specific duties and responsibilities include:
- Proficiency with the following techniques: mouse anatomy and primary tissue culture; molecular methods such as cloning, PCR, real-time PCR; transfection of transgene and shRNA; and biochemical methods such as western blot and protein extraction.
- General computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master basic computer programs.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance is essential.
- Checking inventory of basic laboratory supplies
- Maintaining cell culture daily and managing mouse colonies and genotyping of the colonies when necessary.
- Education:
Bachelor's degree. - Experience:
At least 1 year of relevant lab experience. May accept combination of experience/education/certification in lieu of degree.
- Master's degree
- 3-5 years of experience
Anticipated Hiring Range: $19.23/hour ($40,000 annually). commensurate with education and experience.
Position Type & Work Location

- This is a restricted position, which is dependent on funding and is contingent upon funding availability.
- This position will NOT support visa sponsorship.
- This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and must be performed fully on-site.
