The Connected Data Hub, led by Professor Alexander Gates in the School of Data Science at the University of Virginia, seeks an exceptional candidate for a postdoctoral research associate at the intersection of Network Science, Computational Social Science, and the Science of Science. The initial term of the position is one year, with the possibility with the possibility of renewal based on funding and satisfactory performance, and will beginno later than August 1st, 2023.

The ideal candidates will have a PhD in a discipline closely related to computational social science by date of appointment (e.g. network science, data science, sociology, computer science, economics, management, or related fields). We seek applicants with strong statistical skills, experience with managing large datasets, and fluency with commonly used scientific scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL, or R). We also seek candidates with good communication skills in spoken and written English, and an ability to produce state-of-the art research.
