Job Description & How to Apply Below
The Person ick Group conducts research at the interface of inorganic materials chemistry, heterogeneous catalysis, and fundamental surface science to design tailored metal nanomaterials that function as improved catalysts for energy- and resource-efficient chemical transformations.
The Person ick Group has developed an integrated electrochemical approach to nanomaterials synthesis that combines real-time, in situ electrochemical measurements with electrochemically-driven nanoparticle growth (electrode position). The postdoc will work on projects involving the use of electrochemistry to (1) design new syntheses for shape- and composition-controlled metal nanoparticles and (2) probe nanoparticle growth mechanisms.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :
Candidates must have a Ph.D. (awarded or imminent) in Chemistry or a related field. Experience in electrochemistry and nanomaterials synthesis are required.
Preferred qualifications:
* Expertise in electrode position, electroanalytical chemistry, and in situ measurements to understand nanoparticle growth mechanisms
* Strong ability in experimental design, data analysis, and data management
* Experience with mentoring students
* Demonstrated record of publishing research relevant to the position in high-quality peer-reviewed research journals
* Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats
* Proficiency in working independently and as a member of a collaborative team
