Store Manager in Training

Responsibilities

• Assist store manager with sales, appearance, and overall store operations.
• Supervise professional and retail operations of the store and its team members, including delivery and installer service specialists and parts and merchandising specialists.
• Recruit, hire, evaluate, promote, discipline, and discharge team members in coordination with district manager and store manager.
• Communicate information from Team Weekly, monthly store manager meetings to all team members.
• Train new team members and perform performance evaluations, recommending pay increases.
• Support store manager in ensuring safety compliance and that all team members receive training in all areas.
• Monitor safety expectations and reinforce them.
• Make sales calls with or without store manager, and perform scheduled weekly customer calls as assigned.
• Maintain delivery fleet, keep records for each vehicle, and ensure store/HUB store is neat, clean, and organized.
• Handle electronic scheduling, clocking, and payroll using the electronic scheduling and time‑keeping system.
• Manage key components of gross profit, monitoring professional customer returns for core and warranty abuse.
• Review competitive price matches, price overrides, individual team member productivity and KPI dashboard daily.
• Review monthly P&L statement with store manager and discuss areas of opportunity.

• High School Diploma.
• Must complete Assistant Manager Certification, Sales Specialist Training, and Manager Development Program.
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Ability to read and match numerical/alpha characters quickly and accurately.
• Knowledge of automotive parts, equipment and systems.

• O’Reilly store and/or distribution center experience.
• Completed O’Reilly management training program.
• Advanced computer skills.
• ASE Certification.
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
