Open Rank Academic Investigator – Department of Ophthalmology
The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Virginia (UVA) seeks applications for an Open Rank Academic Investigator.
Responsibilities:
- Support research efforts to reduce vision‑threatening eye disease and develop new concepts.
- Independently carry out experiments and contribute to the mission for vision science.
- Serve as a resource and mentor for the research group and play an active role in the education and training of research fellows, laboratory staff, and medical students.
Salary, rank, and tenure is commensurate with education and experience.
This position will remain open till filled. Review of applications will begin at the end of August. The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment. A completed pre‑employment health screen is required for this position prior to employment.
QualificationsQualified candidates must have an MD or equivalent by appointment start date.
