Security Officer 3rd Shift (Full-Time) 12:00am-08:30am

$1,200 sign‑on bonus!

The Thomas Jefferson Foundation that owns and operates Monticello, a world‑renowned historic attraction, seeks a full‑time Security Officer. This position will provide safety and security services for Foundation properties, personnel, and upwards of 300,000 guests per year. Officers provide the safety and security backbone for the historic plantation of Thomas Jefferson, third president and the primary author of the Declaration of Independence.

• Security patrols.
• Alarm monitoring.
• Emergency response.
• Conduct foot and vehicle patrols during emergencies and inclement weather.

• Proven history of dependability and punctuality in prior employment.
• Valid Virginia driver’s license.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, bend and squat, and work in restricted/small spaces.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• General understanding of security processes and/or law enforcement is favorable.
• Criminal background check required.

Shifts are available with an expectation of minor schedule adjustments surrounding large events, holidays, or other occurrences as authorized by department management. Full‑time roles are benefit‑eligible with competitive pay and opportunities to increase pay when certifications are met. This is considered an essential role and will be required to report for duty during emergencies and inclement weather situations. Open until filled.
