Armed Security Officer; TS​/SCI Security Clearance

Position Summary

This armed position is under the direct supervision of the Manager for assigned high‑profile sites and performs a variety of security‑related duties. The officer observes and reports activities and incidents at assigned locations to provide security and safety for client property, visitors, and personnel. Officers may respond to unusual or emergency situations, use appropriate escalation of force up to and including armed response, and enforce site regulations.

They control access, monitor entrances and exits, patrol the site on foot or in a vehicle, check for unsafe conditions, protect evidence or incident scenes, and prepare logs or reports as requested. The role requires a Top Secret clearance.

• All assigned duties or tasks are deemed to be part of the essential functions unless unrelated, in which case they are considered non‑essential.
• Employees are held accountable for successful job performance, with job performance standards documented separately.
• Employees must know and follow safe work practices, be aware of company policies related to job safety, and notify supervisors of unsafe conditions.
• All functions, duties, and tasks are performed in an honest, ethical, and professional manner, in compliance with company policies and procedures. Clarifications are sought from superiors when necessary.

Guard the assigned posts, answer questions, and provide directions to visitors and tenants. Process visitors by verifying identification, enforce property rules, contact agency sponsors or escorts, issue visitor passes, enter data into visitor logs or automated systems, detect and report criminal acts, and ensure proper screening. Prevent, discover, delay, or detain persons attempting unauthorized access to property or personnel.

• Operate all security equipment on post, including batons, OC spray, X‑ray machines, magnetometers, CCTV, handcuffs, and firearms when required.
• Maintain visitor logs and operate automated visitor database programs.

• US citizenship is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma from an accredited institution or equivalent certificate.
• Fluency in English, with reading, comprehension, and written report skills.
• Two (2) years of armed security experience within the past five years, or two (2) years of service with the US Armed Forces (active duty or reserve).
• Pass medical examination, drug test, and physical agility test if applicable.
• Top Secret clearance is required.

• Work performed inside and outside the property with exposure to inclement weather and unpredictable crisis situations.
• Shift work required.
• Ability to remain on post up to four (4) consecutive hours without eating, drinking, or relieving bladder/bowels.
• Frequent and prolonged walking, standing, sitting, and stooping, up to 12 hours per day, either indoors or outdoors.
• Wage ranges depend on state and location, starting at $17.75 (or $26.00 in California) for trainees, with health and welfare benefits ranges and possible shift differentials.
• Additional compensation of $1.00–$4.00 may be available at sites requiring a Secret or Top‑Secret clearance.

• Paid leave for full‑time employees ranges from 80–240 hours per year, with a minimum of 56 hours of sick leave per year.
