We’re seeking an experienced Plumbing Mechanic to support commercial new‑construction projects. This role focuses on installation and layout of plumbing systems, ensuring quality workmanship and compliance with code and safety standards. The ideal candidate has strong commercial plumbing experience and thrives working both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities- Install water supply and drainage systems in new commercial buildings
- Lay out, assemble, and install piping systems, fixtures, and equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and building codes
- Cut, thread, and bend pipe using appropriate tools and techniques
- Install supports and hangers for piping and equipment
- Perform pressure tests and inspections to verify system integrity
- Coordinate with foremen, project managers, and other trades on‑site
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all company policies and OSHA safety standards
- 3–5+ years of commercial plumbing experience
- Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and construction procedures
- Proficiency with hand and power tools
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Reliable transportation and basic tool set
- OSHA 10 or 30 preferred
- Journeyman plumbing license (as required by local/state regulations)
- Competitive compensation based on experience
- Opportunity to work on Prevailing Wage projects, which, when available, may offer hourly rates ranging from $60–$75 per hour, depending on project location and classification. Prevailing Wage work is project‑dependent and not guaranteed for all assignments.
- Per Diem (Travel Assignments) positions requiring travel outside of the DC‑Metro area may be eligible for per diem when supporting approved out‑of‑area projects. Per diem eligibility and amounts are determined in accordance with company policy and are subject to project needs and role requirements.
