Heavy Equipment Operator - High-End Residential ConstructionLocation: Charlottesville, VA
About UsWe are a high-end residential building company focused on delivering custom homes and major renovations with precision, care, and purpose.
Core Values- Truth - We communicate clearly and honestly, even when it's hard.
- Trust - We do what we say, take ownership, and build confidence with our clients and team.
- Thankfulness - We approach our work with gratitude, respect, and a long-term perspective.
Building With Eternal Perspective. We believe what we build—and how we build it—matters beyond the project itself.
The RoleWe are looking for a skilled and dependable Heavy Equipment Operator who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of precision on high-end residential sites. This role is not just about operating machinery. It's about contributing to a team that delivers exceptional homes where details matter and mistakes are costly.
You will play a key role in site preparation, excavation, grading, and material handling while maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized job site.
Key Responsibilities- Operate heavy equipment (excavators, Dozers, skid steers, loaders, etc.) with precision and care.
- Execute site prep, grading, trenching, and back filling to plan and specification.
- Read and interpret site plans, elevations, and layout requirements.
- Work closely with site supervisors and project managers to maintain workflow and timelines.
- Maintain equipment in good working condition and report issues proactively.
- Uphold high standards for site cleanliness, safety, and organization.
- Anticipate problems and communicate early to avoid delays or rework.
- CDL Class A and management experience (discuss role and compensation).
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment in residential, commercial, or similar construction environments.
- Do you have the ability to envision a site before it begins? Where grades should tie together?
- Strong attention to detail—understands that small errors early become big problems later.
- Ability to follow direction while also thinking ahead and taking initiative.
- Reliable, consistent, and accountable.
- Values alignment with Truth, Trust, and Thankfulness.
- A team-first mindset with respect for clients, trades, and coworkers.
This is not production work or volume building. Our projects are high-detail, high-expectation environments where:
- Accuracy matters more than speed.
- Communication matters as much as execution.
- Every team member contributes to the client experience.
You won't be treated like "just an operator." You'll be trusted to take ownership of your part of the build.
Compensation- Job positions based on experience and qualifications.
- Competitive salary range 50K‑90K depending on experience.
- Full coverage health care included.
- Work on high-end, meaningful residential projects.
- Be part of a values-driven team.
- Stable, long-term opportunity with consistent work.
- A company that respects craftsmanship and people equally.
- Quality of life improvement and pay improvement.
We're looking for someone who doesn't just want a job—but wants to be part of building something that lasts.
