Overview
The Peak Season Repair Specialist serves as a pathway to full‑time employment with Safelite. In this role you will utilize industry‑leading technology to complete vehicle glass repairs and champion the Safelite Spirit with a can‑do attitude, caring heart, and service mindset.
Responsibilities- Learn to repair vehicle glass (in the classroom and hands on) with a focus on the Safelite Way of Fitting under the guidance of experienced technicians and Safelite leaders.
- Repair chips, cracks and other auto glass related issues on customer vehicles.
- Manage work orders, customer documentation and communication through the Safelite handheld Mobile Resource Management (MRM) technology.
- Promote and sell Safelite promotional items to customers.
- Clean customer vehicle during wait/idle time and perform additional housekeeping tasks in company vehicle and shop.
- Safely operate company and customer vehicles, company‑issued tools and chemicals utilized throughout the workday.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
- Drive company vehicles; use of cameras, GPS and other tracking technologies to ensure safety and compliance.
- Competitive weekly base pay starting at $17.75/hour.
- High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent (preferred).
- Valid state‑issued driver's license and any other necessary licenses to operate a company vehicle.
- On‑the‑job training/completion of Safelite Safe Tech™ certification (required).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.; assist in lifting windshields weighing 26–50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist body.
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with all laws and be monitored via camera/video.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and extreme temperatures, and with chemicals (including flammable).
- Ability to work scheduled days with flexibility on start/end times.
- Problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills, independently and collaboratively.
- Reading, writing, interpreting English and technical directions.
- Oral and written communication (phone, computer or other electronic means).
- Maintain professional appearance, company uniform and PPE policies.
- Willingness to maintain stable performance under pressure.
- Maintain professionalism and passion for outstanding customer service.
