Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee

Overview

Technician Trainee – Auto Glass Technician. You will be trained in auto glass repair, replacement, and recalibration. Upon completion, you receive Safelite Safe Tech certification and the ability to work independently.

• Pay to learn and apprentice the Safelite way through hands‑on and classroom training.
• Observe and assist in installing and repairing auto glass.
• Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and diagnostic testing.
• Provide additional services & products to customers.
• Study for and pass testing to become a Safelite‑certified Technician.
• Safely operate company vehicles, use company‑issued tools and chemicals.
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all company policies and standards.

• Competitive weekly pay starting at $20.25/hour, increasing to $24.00/hour after training and certification.
• Earn $5 for each set of wiper blades added for customer safety.

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent (preferred).
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license and any other licenses required to operate a company vehicle.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist body, and work outdoors in varied weather.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and motor vehicles safely.
• Knowledge of and ability to use computerized diagnostic tools for recalibration and troubleshooting.
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to exceed customer expectations.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with problem‑solving skills.
• Effective communication in English, both written and oral.
• Ability to maintain a professional appearance and comply with dress code and PPE policies.
• Willingness to handle professional or personal pressure and maintain stable performance.
