Johnson Controls Inc is looking for forward-thinking talent to join our growing organization.
What You Will Do- Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items.
- Act as a trusted advisor, delivering solutions and outcomes at the time of service.
- Attend Apprentice School 2 nights a week in Richmond.
- Receive training and perform work on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites.
- Participate in certified training through the Service Technical Academy to build skill sets that enable continued recognition, monetary rewards, and advancement.
- Develop skills through coaching and mentorship to troubleshoot and resolve both technical issues and customer needs.
- Keep JCI, contractors, and customers advised of job progress and issues as needed.
- Meet attendance requirements for required Union training during the first year.
- Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facilities run efficiently, including upselling opportunities, and provide quotes to support those recommendations.
- Must be a member or willing to join the local union.
- Tech savvy, using AI tools and handheld devices.
- General knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, and peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
- Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
- Leadership skills to support the activities of mechanics working on non‑complex, non‑critical mechanical HVAC equipment on a job site.
- Self‑starter with the ability to eventually work independently.
- Prioritize safety in all forms.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- 1–2 years of trade school or college with a technical emphasis.
Pay Range: $19.80 hourly rate determined by CBA/rate sheet.
