Electrician - Journeyman

Skillforce is seeking electricians for an upcoming project near Madison County, VA. This role requires experience with light fixtures, rough-ins, switch gears, and pipe rewiring. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years as a commercial electrician.

Compensation: $32-35 per hour

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience as a commercial electrician
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in team environments.
  • Ability to work in various climate conditions and lift up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automated control systems.
  • Certification in OSHA safety standards or equivalent safety training.
  • Familiarity with energy-efficient electrical systems and renewable energy technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with advanced diagnostic tools.
  • Previous experience working on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures according to relevant codes and standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and specifications to determine the layout of electrical systems.
  • Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers, to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with clients and supervisors to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each project.
