AboutThe Role
We are seeking experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technicians to join our service team in the Charlottesville area. This is a mid-to-senior level opportunity for technicians with strong troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience servicing commercial and industrial HVAC systems.
Technicians are placed into CST Levels 3–5 based on experience, licensing, and technical capabilities, providing a clear path for career and compensation growth.
Key Responsibilities- Service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC systems, including:
- DX equipment
- Gas-fired and electric heating systems
- Air handlers and duct systems
- Temperature control systems (24V, 1–10V)
- Perform system startups, monitor operation, read gauges, and make adjustments
- Diagnose equipment failures and repair or replace components
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance
- Inspect and service piping and pumping systems
- Identify and communicate system concerns or unusual operating conditions
- Follow all company safety procedures and jobsite requirements
Highly valued experience includes:
- Air-cooled and water-cooled chillers
- Scroll, screw, and reciprocating compressors
- Electronic controls on packaged HVAC and chiller systems
- Chilled and hot-water systems
- VFD-driven pumps
- Commercial boilers
- VAV systems
- Water-source heat pumps
- CRAC units
- DDC, pneumatic, and modular controls
- Commercial HVAC systems up to 100 tons
- EPA Universal Certification required
- 5+ years of HVAC experience
- Commercial HVAC service experience
- Journeyman license not required
- EPA Universal Certification required
- 7–10+ years of commercial HVAC experience
- Advanced troubleshooting and service capabilities
- Journeyman HVAC License preferred
- EPA Universal Certification required
- 10+ years of HVAC experience
- Advanced commercial HVAC technical expertise
- Virginia Master HVAC License required
- West Virginia HVAC License required
- High school diploma or GED; trade school preferred
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to work independently in the field
- $32.00–$40.00/hour, based on experience, licensing, and technician level
