Intensive Case Management Intern; Fall - UNPAID

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a leading non‑profit organization that provides emergency relief, protection, and resettlement services to refugees and victims of conflict.

The Intensive Case Management (ICM) Intern will work closely with ICM caseworkers to assist clients in addressing their needs and achieving their goals.

• Attend intern orientation
• Assist with client check‑ins (over the phone or in person, as appropriate)
• Assist with ICM client intakes and assessments
• Provide and accompany clients for transportation to appointments, as appropriate
• Communicate with community partners for case coordination
• Explore community resources and assist with client referrals
• Provide on‑demand support (e.g., collecting signatures, completing paperwork, delivering items, bill payment, mail checks, and navigating systems such as medical, mental health, education, transportation, benefits)
• Keep thorough and accurate case file documentation in the IRC electronic system
• Assist with organizing digital files
• Record hours and submit timesheet each month via the IRC’s online Volunteer Dashboard

• Be sensitive to the differences of clients and respect their beliefs and values
• Strong interpersonal skills and interest in working with the refugee community
• Ownership of a car, a valid driver’s license, and car insurance
• Willingness to transport clients in personal vehicle
• Willingness to be flexible and accommodating to client needs

Unpaid position. Reports to the Senior ICM Caseworker.
