Overview
These roles are responsible for managing and overseeing the day-to-day functions that support the university's physical and logistical needs. Staff ensure facilities are well-maintained, operational processes are efficient, and UVA environments are welcoming and functional. They may also manage transportation services, including shuttles, parking facilities, and vehicle maintenance, to provide safe and reliable options for students, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities- Manage and oversee day-to-day facilities operations and maintenance to ensure safe, functional, and welcoming UVA environments.
- Oversee transportation services, including shuttles, parking facilities, and vehicle maintenance; analyze transportation and parking needs and enforce parking rules and regulations.
- Issue parking permits and manage the transportation fleet; coordinate services for students, staff, and visitors.
- Provide administrative or clerical support as an individual contributor; deliver services under supervision; opportunities for progression may be limited without additional education or training.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent - Experience:
At least 8 months of prior work experience (experience from part-time student work may be considered) - Licensure:
Virginia Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Type A or B with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements or a valid Virginia Driver's License with the ability to obtain the CDL with endorsements within the first 45 days of hire - License standing:
Must have a positive driving record
Safe operation of transportation equipment requires sustained sitting, driving, manual controls, repetitive motions, use of both hands and fingers, and ankle/feet movement. It may require climbing stairs, bending, lifting, and carrying, especially during events or servicing equipment.
Pay range information, if applicable, will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications and experience.
