Warehouse Supervisor - University of Virginia S&E

Requisition #: 662621

Location:

Charlottesville, VA 22903

Job Description

The Warehouse Supervisor role at UVA is more than a physical warehouse position. This role is expected to support the daily operation through leadership, organization, accountability, and strong inventory/system management. The ideal candidate must be able to lead staff on the floor while also being comfortable working on a computer for a large portion of the day, especially as it relates to the inventory management system and other operational needs.

The Warehouse Supervisor must be computer literate and willing to continue learning new systems and processes. A major part of this role will involve the inventory management system, including inventory tracking, transfers, receiving, count accuracy, item organization, reporting, and overall system upkeep. While inventory will be the primary system focus, the expectation is that this person is willing and able to work with any system or process that helps improve the operation.

This person must also be able to lead and direct warehouse staff effectively, assign tasks, follow up on progress, correct issues in the moment, and find ways to get the most out of the team. They should understand each employee’s strengths, keep the team moving with purpose, and make sure expectations are clear. The Warehouse Supervisor needs to be a team player and work alongside other supervisors, managers, concessions leadership, vendors, and event staff.

This role requires strong communication, a positive attitude, and the ability to support the overall operation instead of focusing on one area. This position is intended for someone who wants to grow within Aramark, develop professionally, take on more responsibility, and make more of themselves. If they give full effort, show ownership, and continue learning, this role can become a stepping‑stone to future growth within the company.

Compensation

Hourly rate: $22.00 to $24.00 per hour.

Benefits:
Aramark offers a comprehensive benefit program, including medical, dental, vision, work/life resources, retirement savings plans such as 401(k), and paid days off such as parental leave and disability coverage. Benefits vary by location and are subject to legal requirements, employee eligibility, and work location. For more information, visit the Aramark Careers website.

Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the planning and assignment of work, achieving the most efficient use of personnel and equipment.
  • Maintain inventory and establish inventory levels based on prior usage and future demand.
  • Receive incoming shipments and packages from a variety of carriers and enter information into the tracking system for disbursement.
  • Inspect incoming deliveries for accuracy and quality based on the product order and reject any undesirable items.
  • Supervise the warehouse and the inventory held within at all times to ensure security and upkeep.
  • Assist in ordering from site vendors by advising the management team of what is needed and sometimes contacting the vendor directly.
  • Develop and recommend improvements in current warehouse practices to promote efficiency, faster service, and lower costs.
  • Provide training for warehouse employees and may assist with selection of such employees.
  • Uncrate shipments when required and properly dispose of or store containers and packaging as appropriate.

At Aramark, developing new skills and doing what it takes to get the job done makes a positive impact for our employees and our customers. In order to meet our commitments, job duties may change or new ones may be assigned without formal notice.
