Overview
Warehouse Worker role at UVA Concessions:
The Warehouse Worker is a hands‑on event support position. Responsibilities include preparing, stocking, transporting, organizing, and breaking down product and equipment for athletic events, concerts, specialty events, and day‑to‑day operations across multiple venues. The nature of work varies with the event, venue, attendance, weather, timing, and operational needs. Workers must be dependable, flexible, and able to support a fast‑paced event environment.
Hourly rate: $18.00 to $20.00.

Responsibilities- Receive and inspect products, accurately label items, and report discrepancies in delivery reconciliation.
- Organize and store incoming products in assigned locations, applying FIFO inventory controls for perishables.
- Operate manual pallet jack, electric pallet jack, forklift, and other manual or powered vehicles as required.
- Pick inventory to assemble orders of product, supplies, and equipment for requisitions or established par levels.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures to meet accuracy and production standards.
- Load, unload, and transport products and materials to different areas of the warehouse or other client locations, using carts, powered industrial vehicles, or motor vehicles.
- Conduct routine physical inventory counts based on established location schedules.
- Complete administrative duties including records such as inventory count documents, temperature and spoilage logs, equipment inspections, and other relevant business records, using paper or technology‑based systems.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including restrooms, break areas, loading docks, freight elevators, and freight platform delivery areas.
- Implement all location safety policies, OSHA requirements, SDS standards, and emergency procedures, using required safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
- Takes appropriate measures to ensure the security of client and company assets.
- Interact with clients, employees, vendors, customers, and guests regarding business activities and attend meetings as required.
- Must be over 18 years of age.
- High school education or equivalent preferred.
- Two years of previous warehouse experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lb and frequently lift or carry objects weighing up to 35 lb.
- Some client locations require a current valid driver’s license; a motor vehicle record may be run during pre‑employment screening.
