Maritime Electric is seeking an enthusiastic and highly organized individual to join our team as an Administrative Assistant in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Reporting to the Executive Assistant, this role provides essential administrative support to the Administrative Services function and plays a key role in the day-to-day operations of the department.
The successful candidate will be professional, confidential, and detail-oriented, with the ability to exercise sound judgment while managing multiple priorities. Strong organizational skills, efficiency, flexibility, and a commitment to completing work accurately and on time are critical to success in this role. The successful candidate will work on-site at 180 Kent Street, Charlottetown, PE and will be required to perform their duties in person during regular business hours.
This position is not eligible for remote or hybrid work arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Ability to write effectively for a variety of audiences and have strong accuracy in grammar and document verification.Collaborate effectively with a wide range of internal and external contacts while maintaining strict confidentiality. Exercise sound judgment, attention to detail, and professionalism in a high-volume environment.Manage incoming calls and requests from internal and external stakeholders.Respond to work requests and other reception duties when required.Generate e-mails, memos, letters, reports, minutes and other required documents.Coordinate calendars and scheduling meetings (internal, off-site, and TEAMS).Maintain office supplies and coordinate couriers, business travel, and internal/external mail.Maintain professionalism with quick response times while maintaining composure under pressure.Qualifications and Experience
Post-secondary education in Office Administration, Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Two to three (2–3) years of related administrative experience; utility experience is considered an asset.Strong written communication skills, with high accuracy in grammar, formatting, and document verification. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Power Point.Physically capable of performing the essential duties of an office-based administrative role.Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.Ability to work independently, multitask, and prioritize effectively.Willingness to work occasional overtime and after-hours as required.How to Apply
This position offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package. The salary range for this position is between $63,000 to $75,000 per annum. Qualified individuals may submit a complete resume confidentially to Human Resources at by February 20, 2026.
