Laboratory Assistant UPEI Chemistry Department

Enhance your laboratory skills as a Student Laboratory Assistant in the UPEI Chemistry Department for the  academic year. Aid students while ensuring laboratory safety protocols are observed.

The University of Prince Edward Island is hiring up to 21 Student Laboratory Assistants for its Chemistry labs covering a range of disciplines. Applicants are required to be UPEI students who have passed relevant courses or have equivalent experience. All successful candidates must complete WHMIS training and attend a mandatory safety session before starting hands-on duties in the labs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist and guide students through lab work

• Supervise student operations during experiments

• Maintain safety standards for chemicals and equipment

• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures

Requirements:

• Must currently be a UPEI student

• Successful completion of relevant Chemistry coursework

• Completion of online WHMIS and safety training

• Applicants should indicate availability in afternoons/evenings
