Job DescriptionThe ideal candidate will assist licensed vocational instructors in the shop area. Knowledge of the competencies and skills required of students in Electrical is preferred. The candidate should work with all students by assisting the approved vocational technical instructor in delivering quality training to prepare the students to meet the demands of working as aspiring electricians.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Assist in the implementation of a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students.
- Assist in delivering effective instruction with a strong focus on the Massachusetts Vocational Technical Curriculum Electrical Frameworks and performance standards to students of varying abilities and skill levels.
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Responsible for effective techniques of classroom management/discipline and behavior reinforcement.
- Assist in transportation of students to/from job sites within the school district. Must be willing to drive a 14-passenger van.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or their designee.
- OSHA-10 Credential or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
- Appropriate licensure as an Electrician in the State of Massachusetts.
- Massachusetts Chapter 74 Licensure in Electrical.
- SEI Endorsement.
- Previous experience working with students in a high school setting.
- High School Diploma.
- Experience in the electrical field and/or an understanding of house and commercial electrical basic principles.
This is a 10-month position. This position is part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Bay Path Paraprofessionals Association and the SWCRVSDC.
SALARYAppropriate step on BPTA (Paraprofessionals) pay schedule pursuant to the BPTA (Paraprofessionals) CBA. Hourly rate ranges from $20.52 - $27.08 per hour.
