MASONRY INSTRUCTOR

Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School, Charlton, Massachusetts

Reports to:

Vocational Director.

Position summary:

As an educator, you will provide rigorous instruction to a diverse student population and align your teaching to the district and state curriculum. You will regularly assess learning, modify instruction as needed, and create a classroom welcoming to all students, including English learners and students with disabilities. The educator role requires patience, perseverance, creativity, strong content knowledge, and a commitment to preparing all students for successful lives.

• Develop and implement a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
• Assist in the procurement and purchase of approved equipment and supplies to support students in the Chapter 74 Masonry program.
• Deliver effective instruction aligned to Massachusetts Vocational Technical Curriculum Masonry standards for students of varying abilities and skill levels.
• Maintain effective classroom management and behavior reinforcement techniques.
• Fulfill department teaming roles, including mentoring with a professional status colleague.
• Participate in school-wide task forces and academic-vocational integration activities.
• Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Massachusetts Chapter 74 Licensure in Masonry preferred or eligible to attain a preliminary vocational technical teacher license.
• Five years of full-time employment experience directly related to Masonry.
• SEI Endorsement OR ability to achieve SEI endorsement within one year of hire.

The Masonry Instructor does not supervise any staff at Bay Path.

This is a 10-month position. This position is part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Bay Path Teachers Association and the SWCRVSDC.

$59,152.95 - $ (step as appropriate on Teacher’s salary schedule pursuant to the BPTA CBA).
