Position Summary
We are seeking a driven and analytically minded Staff Accountant to join our finance team in a fast-paced manufacturing and aerospace environment. This is a broad-scope role designed for someone who thrives on variety — contributing across financial reporting, operations analytics, compliance, and day-to-day accounting functions. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, highly organized, and eager to develop deep familiarity with how a complex manufacturing business runs.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to month-end close (5‑day cycle) and preparation of financial statements and management reports
- Support KPI development and analytical reporting — translating operational data into actionable financial insight
- Participate in the annual budget process and year‑end audit, gaining exposure to the full financial planning cycle
- Manage Accounts Receivable processes including customer invoicing, collections follow‑up, and account reconciliation
- Monitor and resolve past‑due accounts, coordinating with customers and the internal sales team to address discrepancies
- Prepare and validate daily bank deposits; reconcile deposit activity with accounting records
- Create and maintain split work orders in coordination with production and job costing systems
- Provide backup support for Accounts Payable and payroll processing
- Assist with quarterly use tax filings and related compliance documentation
- Ensure accuracy and adherence to internal controls and aerospace‑related documentation requirements
- 4‑year bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience with ERP or manufacturing accounting systems preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and time‑management skills
- Comfortable engaging across departments — production, sales, engineering, and quality — as a financial resource and collaborator
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment
- Experience in manufacturing or aerospace industry environments
- Familiarity with job costing, work orders, and progress billing
- Knowledge of aerospace compliance standards (e.g., documentation traceability, audit readiness)
- Experience with payroll systems
- Understanding of sales/use tax processes
