Role Description The Lead Preschool Teacher is a full-time, on-site role located in Chaska, MN. This position is responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate lessons and curriculum for preschool-age children, ensuring activities support social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. The Lead Teacher will guide classroom routines, facilitate small and large group learning, and maintain a safe, engaging environment. Daily tasks include observing and documenting children’s progress, communicating regularly with families, and collaborating with other staff members to align educational goals.

The role also involves mentoring assistant teachers, following licensing and safety regulations, and contributing to a positive, inclusive school culture.
Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development to design engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences.
  • Knowledge and experience in Early Childhood Education, including child development principles and best practices for preschool and Kindergarten readiness.
  • Effective Communication skills for interacting with children, families, and colleagues in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Relevant education such as an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (or equivalent credential as required by state regulations).
  • Experience leading a preschool classroom or similar early learning environment, with the ability to manage classroom behavior and routines.
  • Understanding of licensing, safety, and health standards in early childhood settings, including CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a teaching team, demonstrate cultural competence, and foster an inclusive environment for children of diverse backgrounds.
