Under the direction of the Assistant County Surveyor, the Survey Engineering Technician, Senior Survey Engineering Technician, or Survey Engineering Specialist performs surveying and mapping duties supporting land information functions for the County Surveyor.
We are currently looking for someone to fill one of these Surveying roles in our Public Works Division. The classification will be dependent upon the candidate's qualifications.

- Associates Degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering or related field or High School Diploma/GED and four (4) years related and progressive work experience; must currently hold, or be able to obtain within 24 months of employment, MnDOT or University of Minnesota Certification in the following areas:
Grading and Base Inspector, Bituminous Street Inspector, Concrete Field Inspector; valid driver’s license or evidence of mobility.

- AAS Degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field and four (4) years related and progressive work experience or High School Diploma/GED and six (6) years related and progressive work experience; certified as a Survey Technician Level 3 as administered by NSPS, or the ability to obtain within twenty-four (24) months; must currently hold, or be able to obtain within 24 months of employment, MnDOT or University of Minnesota Certification in the following areas:
Grading and Base I & II, Bituminous Street, Concrete Field I & II; valid driver’s license or evidence of mobility.

- Associates Degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field and six (6) years of related experience or High School Diploma/GED and eight (8) years of related and progressive work experience; certified as a Survey Technician Level 3 as administered by NSPS, or the ability to obtain within twelve (12) months; must currently hold, or be able to obtain within 24 months of employment, MnDOT or University of Minnesota Certification in the following areas:
Grading and Base Inspector, Bituminous Street Inspector, Concrete Field Inspector; valid driver’s license or evidence of mobility.
All applications will be screened for minimum qualifications, scored and ranked. The highest ranked candidates meeting minimum qualifications will be recommended for the scored oral examinations (interviews). Final selection for the position will include successful completion of oral interview(s), reference checks, background investigation, and pre-placement physical.
