POSITION PROFILEThis position is primarily responsible for leading the development of Electric Motors; including methods, machines and tooling to build, test, and troubleshoot electric motor prototypes, and low-rate initial builds. The role works closely with other engineers, program managers and quality teams to implement designs, interpret and develop drawing components, analyze test results, and maintain equipment for research or production, focusing on accuracy, reliability, efficiency, and innovation.
ESSENTIALJOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build, assemble, and modify electronic systems, prototypes, and components using hand tools and equipment.
- Test, calibrate, and troubleshoot circuits and equipment; analyze test data, report findings, and identify failures.
- Interpret and develop engineering drawings, create schematics, suggest design improvements, and help resolve technical issues.
- Design and develop tooling and equipment solutions to support assigned projects.
- Maintain detailed records, write reports, document technical details, and manage inventory.
- Work with engineers and other professionals to discuss project needs, design changes, and technical solutions.
- Present and negotiate technical trades to balance cost, reliability, quality and performance.

- B.S. in Engineering or equivalent experience is required as a minimum; an advanced technical degree is desirable.
- 4+ years of related experience in a development environment (Aerospace preferred).
- Knowledgeable and experienced in electric motor test equipment including dielectric testers, LCR meters, milliohm meters, oscilloscopes, torque watches, DAQs, power analyzers/power meters, Magtrol dynamo meters.
- Strong understanding of BLDC motors, drives, circuits, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to debug complex systems and troubleshoot issues.
- Maintain high attention to detail crucial for quality control, testing, and accurate documentation.
- Effectively communicate issues to engineers, managers and technicians.
- Experience with 3D Printing.
- Configure ERP system routings, work instructions, and quality control activities.
- U.S. citizenship required; proof of export license may be necessary for employees of certain nationalities.
- Exposure to typical manufacturing (Machine Shop, Assembly, Testing) environments with appropriate PPE.
- Temperature of work environment may vary due to external conditions and machining processes.
- Travel: 5% – 15%.
- Flexible and extra hours as required.
- Tools include: multi plugs, oscilloscopes, soldering irons, drills, testing software, basic hand tools.
$110,000 - $130,000 per year
