Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer
Director, Global Manufacturing Process Engineering
Location:
Chaska, MN (remote; preference for proximity to an airport). Reports to VP, Global Engineering.
- Define and execute the long‑term strategy for manufacturing process engineering, driving efficiency, quality, and innovation.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen to optimize yield, reduce waste, and enhance cycle times.
- Oversee seamless new product introduction (NPI) transitions from R&D to manufacturing, ensuring DFM/DFA principles and process validation.
- Collaborate on the evaluation and implementation of cutting‑edge manufacturing technologies and automation solutions.
- Build and mentor a high‑performing engineering team, fostering technical excellence and a culture of collaboration.
- Partner with Quality teams to maintain robust process controls and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Drive cost‑reduction initiatives and manage budgets, resources, and vendor relationships to support scalable operations.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or related field).
- 12+ years in manufacturing process engineering, including 7+ years in leadership roles.
- Deep expertise in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma;
Black Belt certification preferred. - Proven experience in GMP Medtech environments and NPI, including process validation.
- Strong foundation in DFM/DFA and diverse manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, automation, cleanroom operations).
- Exceptional team leadership, cross‑functional collaboration, and stakeholder influence skills.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and data‑driven decision‐making; excellent communication with technical and executive audiences.
Physical Requirements
- Approximately 60‑70% travel if remote work arrangement; 40‑50% if on‑site/hybrid.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Experience
- MBA or advanced degree in a related technical or business field.
- Proficiency with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) and CAD/CAM tools.
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and ERP integration.
- Experience in the life sciences or healthcare industry.
- Experience with industrial automation (e.g., PLCs, SCADA).
- Knowledge of AI/ML integration with automation.
- Experience with cloud‑based automation platforms.
- Certifications in process improvement methodologies.
Annual salary range: $190,000 – $210,000. Eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
