Medical Lab Tech​/Medical Lab Scientist

Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for serving both internal and external customers by performing a variety of laboratory procedures in accordance with Ridgeview Medical Center philosophy, policies, and procedures and in accordance with all regulatory agencies. Focus areas include:
Automated Chemistry, Immuno-Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology, Urinalysis, Semen Analysis, Advanced and independent work in Blood Bank and/or Microbiology.

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Chemistry or Biology or related fields

• Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
• Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
• Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
• Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Ability to maintain technical competence
• Ability to work autonomously and as a team

• Certified as a Medical Technologist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Scientist by the American Society for Clinical Pathology board of registry per CLIA standards. Certification must be completed by the first year of employment and kept current according to ASCP standards

Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation such as: the requirements of the position, experience, education, knowledge, and skills along with location and internal equity. Pay listed does not include any shift, weekend, or other differentials.

Primary shift is day shift. Instead of a weekend rotation, every other Thurs 3rd shift rotation. Includes a holiday rotation on either day shift or 3rd shift up to 2 holidays per yr.
