Job Description

Our site in Chaska is seeking a Production Shift Supervisor to join our operation teams supporting our B10 shift employees. The Supervisor will be responsible and accountable for achieving departmental production requirements by focusing on safety first, quality, and cost, through supervision of staff and through the coordination of scheduling and workflow. This leader will be directly responsible for the end‑to‑end supervisor responsibilities of Machining, V&M, and Invue departments and manage approximately 30-35 hourly employees.

This role is critical in ensuring staff training and providing guidance, motivation and ensuring work instructions are maintained and followed across their departments. This individual will build and maintain a culture where teamwork, innovation, and accountability are of the highest importance. They will also work closely with the Senior Production Supervisors and support team resources to ensure seamless communication across the production shifts.

The team that this role will lead primarily operate and work on the B10 Shift, which is Monday
- Thursday 4:00 PM - 2:00 AM.

There will be an expectation that the incumbent flexes their hours and days worked Monday
- Friday between 3 PM to 11 PM at minimum for a successful handoff to the next shift. Some days will vary depending on the need and support.

This shift will help to accommodate site and shift coverage, critical leadership meetings, and other duties, as necessary.

The hired individual will be a part of a multi‑faceted team that supplies critical solutions to the ultra‑high purity semiconductor market. Our technology enables the latest chip technology and its applications, including IoT, AI, machine learning and 5G. Demand for our products is rising rapidly and we are looking for someone who can help us ensure that our staff is being developed and trained in the best way possible.

What

You’ll Do
  • Ensure safe work practices and work with EHS to train and elevate a culture of safety within the team.
  • Monitor work area and employees' performance for adherence to safety procedures and managing cleanliness expectations for the machining team.
  • Ensure staff training is provided for effective performance. Address issues with staff and keep documentation for coaching. Adhere to Company policies, procedures, and applicable budget requirements. Conduct timely employee performance reviews.
  • Communicate effectively to the team regarding goals and expectations as well as with other supervisors, engineers, and management to ensure operations is one cohesive unit.
  • Ensure expected output of quality products. Assist in investigating and evaluating quality issues and determining appropriate actions for resolution. Assist in writing document change orders and manufacturing instructions.
  • Promote the use of Lean/Sigma Manufacturing concepts including SPC, Kanban materials management and 6S.
  • Use PDCA, visual management, schedule attainment, KANBAN, and daily improvements to monitor and adjust production requirements and resources to ensure on time shipment. Implement and monitor continuous quality improvement activities including waste and cost reduction, equipment and tool efficiencies and human resource planning.
  • Provide daily work direction to team members and act as first point of contact regarding any issues that may arise on shift.
What We Seek
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Must be 18 years or older and have the right to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • 5+ years of experience in a complex manufacturing environment preferred.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Organizational, planning and communication skills and the ability to adapt to workforce, work environment, and customer needs.
  • Experience with lean and/or six sigma methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence outcomes, build alignment, and collaborate across functions and organizational levels.
