Position: Assembly & Test Technician I

Position Profile

The Assembly & Test Technician is responsible for processing/assembling electromechanical products for Power and Actuation Systems brushless DC motor applications. This role conducts and assists in the assembly and test of production hardware and their sub‑assemblies in accordance with mechanical drawings, work instructions, routings, and other specifications. The technician performs soldering, winding, bonding, crimping, assembly, and identification of hardware before presentation to final inspection, and records completed work in accordance with company processes.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated mechanical/technical aptitude and ability to conduct functional tests
  • Ability to understand and work with blueprint drawings
  • Detail‑oriented with capability to work fast‑paced environments and follow procedures
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for interaction with all levels of personnel
  • Computer literate with MS Office experience and basic PC skills
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
Essential Responsibilities
  • Complete work as directed in compliance with technical specifications and regulatory requirements including mil‑specs.
  • Ensure that products perform their proposed functions satisfactorily.
  • Read, interpret documents (procedures, schematics, technical drawings, etc.) and use measuring devices to confirm tooling/geometric dimensions.
  • Solder, crimp, and assemble critical electronic systems.
  • Operate in accordance with Company ESD policies.
  • Set up and operate tools required for assembly (hand tools, load testing devices, micrometers, depth micrometers, calipers, microscopes).
  • Set up and operate equipment for building and testing (multimeters, ohmmeters, voltmeters, torque wrenches, dynamo meters, load cells).
  • Assist with testing equipment maintenance and/or repair.
  • Conduct function testing, troubleshoot, rework, and document results accurately.
  • Maintain accurate parts inventory and documentation for each job.
  • Identify causes of test failures and perform rework with limited supervision; participate in corrective action resolution.
  • Support Lean ideas to improve company efficiencies.
  • Assist in packaging hardware in accordance with ESD procedures.
  • Maintain hand tools in clean working condition.
  • Notify supervisor of any equipment requiring repair.
  • Properly handle and dispose of chemicals used, utilizing proper PPE.
  • Identify routing discrepancies and notify supervisor for changes.
  • Perform other job duties as requested or assigned.

  • Job may involve constant exposure to abrasive chemicals.
  • This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines, and requires appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Temperature of work environment may be affected by external temperatures and machining processes.
  • This is a full‑time position; overtime and weekend work may be required.
  • Some travel (5–10%) may be necessary.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly talk and hear.
  • Frequently reach with hands and arms, and use hands to finger, handle or feel.
  • Requires close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Regularly stand, sit, walk, stoop, bend, turn, balance, and/or crouch.
  • May lift, push, pull, or move items weighing up to 45 pounds.
Pay Range

$23.75 – $28.00 per hour
