We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Materials Handler to support warehouse and material management operations in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for receiving and processing incoming materials, maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting production through material kitting, and ensuring the efficient movement of materials throughout the facility.
The ideal candidate has experience working in a manufacturing or assembly environment, is safety-focused, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
Key Responsibilities- Receive incoming materials and accurately enter information into the inventory system.
- Perform shipping, receiving, storing, distributing, and order fulfillment of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment.
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and invoices while maintaining accurate records.
- Inspect received materials and report or reject damaged or incorrect items.
- Process and receive work orders.
- Kit materials for production and support teams.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with inventory management activities.
- Review customer and production orders to stock, pull, and distribute materials as needed.
- Package and prepare products and materials for shipment, including recording shipping weights and charges when required.
- Prepare and maintain shipping and receiving documentation.
- Manage non-inventory materials for various business units, including labeling, moving, and maintaining holding lists.
- Coordinate scrap materials and communicate with scrap vendors as needed.
- Manage storage requests for special projects and return material authorizations.
- Assist with warehouse organization, storage management, and space allocation.
- Coordinate crating requests for specialized shipments.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Support production teams by ensuring materials are available when needed.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- 3–5 years of warehouse, material handling, inventory, or manufacturing experience.
- Previous experience working in an assembly or manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Experience with inventory management and material tracking.
- Ability to process work orders and maintain accurate documentation.
- Experience using ERP systems; SAP experience is highly preferred.
- Forklift experience or certification is preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely use basic hand tools.
- Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, self-motivated, and accountable.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Safety-focused mindset with the ability to follow established safety procedures.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing, crawling, and reaching throughout the workday.
- Ability to work in warehouse, manufacturing, and cleanroom environments.
- May be required to work in confined spaces or elevated areas.
- Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, safety shoes, and a bump cap.
- Ability to safely work around chemicals, electrical equipment, moving mechanical parts, and other manufacturing hazards while following all safety procedures.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- May be required to wear cleanroom garments for extended periods.
- Position may require walking 10,000+ steps per shift and climbing multiple flights of stairs during extended shifts.
- Occasional travel to manufacturing facilities, training locations, or customer sites may be required.
