Product Assembly Technician

12-Month Contract

Position Overview

We are seeking detail-oriented and hands-on Fiber Assembly Technicians to support the build and launch of a new prototype manufacturing line. This role is ideal for individuals with mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly experience who enjoy working with precision components, following detailed work instructions, and producing high-quality products in a manufacturing or laboratory environment.

Technicians will be trained across multiple assembly and production stations, gaining exposure to the full product build process from component preparation through final testing and inspection. This is a highly collaborative role requiring strong attention to detail, quality focus, and the ability to work with small parts and precision tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform hands-on assembly of fiber optic and related components.
  • Operate a variety of precision tools and equipment, including microscopes, crimpers, stripping tools, and other assembly instruments.
  • Conduct visual inspections and quality checks to ensure product conformance.
  • Follow detailed work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and engineering drawings.
  • Record production data, measurements, and assembly documentation accurately.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and communicate quality or process issues.
  • Rotate between multiple production stations and learn the complete assembly process.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing process.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience in mechanical assembly, electro-mechanical assembly, manufacturing, production, or a related technical environment.
  • Comfortable working with small parts and precision tools.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow detailed work instructions and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and data entry.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
