Position Overview
Senior Development Scientist at Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, located in Chaska (Minneapolis), MN. One of Danaher’s 15+ operating companies. The role involves developing new techniques and procedures in an ISO
9000/FDA regulated environment with a focus on immunoassay development.
- Develop new product designs, processes, product scale‑up, design/product optimization, technology transfer, and process/product verification and validation activities.
- Independently design, execute, and analyze simple to moderately complex experimental work and present conclusions.
- Provide technical leadership within the department, including training other scientists.
- Maintain well‑organized laboratory notebooks in compliance with relevant procedures and regulatory guidelines.
- Operate within project schedule to ensure timely transmission of data to project teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related science with 5+ years experience; or Master’s with 3+ years experience; or Doctorate with 0‑2 years experience.
- Considerable knowledge of good laboratory practices and scientific methods.
- Ability to document work per ISO
9000/FDA regulations, including materials, methods, and conclusions. - Demonstrated ability to independently design, execute, analyze, and draw conclusions from scientific experiments.
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to interact effectively at all levels and across cultures.
- 2+ years of experience in diagnostic business, with immunoassay experience a plus.
- Hands‑on experience in immunoassay, immuno‑reagent development, cell culture, design and expression of recombinant proteins.
- Meaningful experience in clinical, research or diagnostic setting with knowledge of immunoassay development.
Annual salary range $105,000‑$115,000. Eligible for bonus/incentive pay. Comprehensive benefits include paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and a 401(k).
