Master Pest Control Technician

About this positionAbout the Role
Edina Seasonal Services is hiring a Master Pest Control Technician to lead structural pest control applications, mentor Journeyman technicians, and ensure all work meets Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) licensing and safety standards. This is a senior, hands-on role for an experienced applicator ready to take on greater technical responsibility.
Responsibilities- Inspect residential and commercial properties to identify pest issues and recommend treatment plans
- Apply pesticides in, on, under, and around structures in compliance with label instructions and MDA regulations
- Supervise and mentor licensed Journeyman applicators and technicians in training
- Maintain accurate pesticide application records, safety data sheets, and customer documentation
- Serve as the on-site technical authority for complex or high-risk pest control jobs
- Communicate treatment plans, findings, and follow-up recommendations to customers
- Ensure company vehicles, equipment, and chemical storage meet safety and regulatory standards
- Active Minnesota Structural Pest Control Applicator (SPCA) license, Master category — or eligibility to obtain one upon hire
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a licensed SPCA Journeyman applicator
- Passed the MDA Core (Category
A) exam and the SPCA Journeyman or Master exam with a score of 70% or higher - Must be employed by a licensed Minnesota Structural Pest Control Company (Edina Seasonal Services holds this license)
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in confined spaces (crawl spaces, attics, basements)
- Strong working knowledge of pest biology, pesticide safety, and MDA compliance requirements
- SPCA Fumigant Endorsement (Category N)
- Prior experience training or supervising pest control staff
- Experience with integrated pest management (IPM) practices
- Category E & L Licenses
- Willing to be part of the snow removal team during winter months if needed
Pay: $29–$34/hour (approx. $58,000–$70,000/year), based on experience
