Auto Service Technician Position Kent

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is seeking a temporary full-time Auto Service Technician to support their Public Works division. Bring your expertise in vehicle repair and maintenance.

This role spans ongoing maintenance and repair duties, requiring in-depth knowledge of both gas and diesel vehicles. The technician will work in a dynamic environment, providing diagnostics, conducting inspections, and performing repairs according to municipal standards. A valid driver’s license is essential due to roadside inspection duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Repair and service a variety of municipal vehicles

• Conduct Ministry of Transportation inspections

• Maintain service manuals and technical references for repairs

• Keep organized records of inspections and repairs

• Provide mentorship to automotive apprentices

Requirements:

• Must hold a Class DZ driver’s license

• 310S and 310T certifications preferred

• Familiarity with diagnostic systems and tools required

• Strong welding skills and computer proficiency

• 5 years of 310T experience or comparable background
