Full-Time Auto Service Technician

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is seeking a permanent Auto Service Technician to serve in the Public Works division. Preference is given to CUPE 12.1 current members. You will diagnose and repair gas and diesel engines, drive trains, and other components, ensuring optimal performance and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, repair, and inspect municipal vehicles and equipment

• Perform Ministry of Transportation inspections and issue Safety Certificates

• Prepare written work records and maintain equipment documentation

• Operate various vehicles safely in and out of work areas

• Coach and instruct apprentices in technical skills

Requirements:

• 310T (Truck and Coach) license preferred

• 5 years as a 310T technician or relevant experience

• Proficient in diagnostic tools and schematic diagrams

• Excellent MIG, STICK, and Oxy-Acetylene welding skills

• Strong Microsoft Office skills for reporting
