Location:
Chatham, Kent (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £41,957 - £45,859 DOE
Contract:
Full Time, Permanent

About the Role We are recruiting for an Experienced Children’s Social Worker to join a Children’s Social Work Team supporting vulnerable children and families.
You will manage a caseload of children subject to Child in Need and Child Protection plans, working directly with families to improve outcomes and ensure children are safe. The role involves assessment, planning, intervention and court work where required.
You will work within a supportive team structure and receive regular reflective supervision, allowing you to develop your practice while maintaining high safeguarding standards.
Key Responsibilities
Managing a statutory caseload of children and families
Completing assessments, care plans and reviews
Child Protection and Child in Need planning
Direct work with children and families
Preparing reports for conferences, meetings and court proceedings
Multi-agency partnership working (schools, police, health and other professionals)
Recording case work accurately and within timescales
Applying relationship-based and strengths-based practice What We’re Looking For Essential:
Qualified Social Worker
Social Work England registered
Completed ASYE + minimum 2 years post-qualified experience
Experience in safeguarding / statutory children’s services
Child Protection and court work experience
Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle Desirable:
Signs of Safety experience (or willingness to train)
Experience in Child in Need / Child Protection teams
Strong assessment and report writing skills Working Pattern
Hybrid working
Minimum 2 office days per week
Flexible working arrangements available Important Information Applicants must be able to travel across the Medway area as part of the role.
An Enhanced DBS check is required
