Key Responsibilities
As a Plumber, you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety, efficiency, and reliability of essential facilities. You will deliver planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of mechanical systems, from water services to heating and drainage, directly supporting operational readiness.
- Carry out planned preventive maintenance, including system checks, inspections, and servicing.
- Respond to reactive maintenance tasks such as leaks, blockages, and system faults.
- Diagnose and repair faults across plumbing, heating, and water hygiene systems.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and support inventory management.
- Support general site operations by ensuring systems remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.
- Demonstrable plumbing experience, ideally within a commercial or facilities environment.
- Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance.
- Ability to fault find and repair a range of mechanical and plumbing systems.
- Strong understanding of health and safety and compliance standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant plumbing qualification.
- Full UK driving licence.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
Working ConditionsLocation:
Chatham, Kent.
Hours:
Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:30 (40 hours per week). Overtime is available. The role involves manual work, including lifting, bending, using tools, and standing for extended periods.
