Instructional Coach

Duties

The literacy instructional leader serves as the instructional expert for literacy across all content areas by guiding, modeling, and supporting teachers in effective instructional practices. This role involves staying current on literacy research and trends, using student data to inform instruction and interventions, and supporting teachers in selecting, administering, and interpreting literacy assessments. The leader builds a culture of trust and continuous improvement, facilitates collaboration across departments, and provides job-embedded professional development through coaching, modeling, and professional learning communities.

They manage literacy resources, support curriculum and lesson design, and ensure alignment with school improvement goals. Professionally, the leader maintains clear communication with administrators, staff, and families, evaluates the effectiveness of literacy programs annually, engages in ongoing professional development, and upholds high standards of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/

Certifications:

* Preferred Master's Degree in reading and/or curriculum instruction

* Preferred teaching endorsement in English and/or Language Arts

* A strong undergraduate and graduate scholastic record

* Standard Illinois Teaching Certificate required

* Knowledge of current curriculum, instructional trends, school improvement

process, technology use, and student assessment systems

Salary/Benefits

Salary Range:
Commensurate with experience and qualifications -$48,544 - $116,368 (26/27 BCEA Contract)
