- Serve as a health education resource person to students, staff, and families
- Provide first aid care and administer necessary immunizations
- Maintain an accurate health record for each student including immunizations, physical exam information and data regarding medical problems
- Accurately order, maintain, and inventory medical supplies and maintain supply budget wisely and efficiently
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of IL
- Ability to pass a fingerprint criminal and DCFS background check.
- Considerable knowledge of medical disorders and treatments, especially as it relates to children and adolescents
- Considerable knowledge of child growth and development
- Working knowledge of public health problems and procedures for treatment in coordination with other health and social service agencies
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations affecting the delivery of school health services
