The Town of Chatham is hiring this Seasonal position.

Starting Pay: $21.75/hour

Duties Include:

• Sorting and separating recycled materials into appropriate containers
• Assisting patrons with proper disposal and recycling of materials
• Maintaining cleanliness and ensuring area is free of debris
• Providing information to the public regarding Transfer Station procedures and guidelines
• Assisting with traffic flow and directing patrons within the facility
• Handling, moving, stacking electronics, mattresses or other heavy or bulky materials
• May assist with municipal trash collection route
• May assist with collection of fees and verification of stickers

Must be 18 years of age or older. Ability to politely explain and enforce regulations and follow safety protocols required. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Duties require continuous periods of work outside in all weather conditions. Frequent walking over uneven surfaces, standing, lifting, bending, pushing and pulling required.

Temporary employment up to 40 hours per week, anticipated to end early October. Position regularly works weekends. 7:30 am to 4:00 pm schedule. Position is not benefits or pension eligible.
