Our client is seeking a Payroll Administrator to join their accounting team on a temp-to-hire basis. This role will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of semi-monthly payroll for approximately 300 employees. The ideal candidate will be hands‑on, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently within a collaborative, lean accounting department. This position offers immediate training and overlap with the current payroll process to ensure a smooth transition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process semi-monthly payroll for approximately 300 employees.
  • Ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and timely distribution.
  • Maintain payroll records and employee data.
  • Review payroll reports and reconcile discrepancies as needed.
  • Respond to employee payroll‑related inquiries.
  • Partner with accounting and HR teams to support payroll operations.
  • Assist with payroll audits, reporting, and year‑end payroll activities.
  • Adhere to established payroll procedures and internal controls.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience processing full‑cycle payroll for a workforce of similar size.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn processes and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Paylocity.
  • Prior experience in a nonprofit, educational, or school environment.
  • Familiarity with payroll compliance and reporting requirements.
