The Regional Accounting team at Tennessee Farmers Co-op is hiring a Staff Accountant based in the LaVergne office. This role supports financial operations by reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements and budgets, and maintaining accurate ledgers while collaborating with member Co‑ops and internal teams. Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in accounting (or related field), 2–4 years of experience, and strong Microsoft Office skills.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university
  • Two to four years related experience, preferred
  • Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office programs, with advanced Excel skills
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Reconcile bank statements, clearing and variance accounts, prepare operating statements, balance sheets and margin analysis statements.
  • Responsibilities to post general ledger adjustments, accounts payable and accounts receivable adjustments.
  • Assists in maintaining and reconciling accurate general ledger and sub‑ledger balances.
  • Prepare the budgets, review and evaluate performance compared to the budgets.
  • Makes recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.
  • Assists in performance evaluation, cost management, and asset management.
  • Responsible for providing outstanding customer service to all TFC employees, Member Cooperatives and outside contacts.
  • Must manage multiple projects and meet project deadlines.
  • Other accounting duties as assigned.
