Plant Accountant

Plant Accountant – Chattanooga, TN

Support the Plant Finance team in executing accounting and finance responsibilities for the Chattanooga manufacturing plant. Prepare manufacturing performance reports daily and weekly; assist with daily financial control compliance and audit activities; contribute to month‑end and quarter‑end closing; support cost savings, capital, standard costing, and ad‑hoc analysis.

• Month‑end close journal entry, reconciliation, and report preparation.
• Daily reporting to cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Daily internal control activity preparation and documentation.
• Weekly open purchase order review and spend forecasting.
• Participation in annual physical inventory.
• Ad‑hoc financial and cost analysis.
• Support the Assistant Controller and Cost Accountant with cost savings, capital, and standard costing.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial expertise in decision‑making.

• B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2–3 years of accounting experience; manufacturing experience a plus.
• Knowledge of GAAP accounting, automated accounting systems and SOX.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, problem‑solving, and prioritization skills.
• Strong computer/systems/PC skills; intermediate Microsoft Excel; ERP system experience, JDE E1 a plus.
• Attention to detail and a collaborative approach.
