This is a full-time, on-site Senior Tax Accountant role based in Chattanooga, TN. The Senior Tax Accountant will prepare and review complex individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. The role includes performing tax research, identifying planning opportunities, and advising clients on tax implications and strategies. Day-to-day responsibilities also involve reviewing financial statements, supporting year-end closings, and collaborating with colleagues to resolve accounting and tax issues.
The Senior Tax Accountant will communicate directly with clients, manage multiple engagements, and contribute to process improvements and staff development as needed.
- Strong tax technical skills, including Tax Compliance and Tax Preparation across individual, corporate, and partnership entities.
- Solid understanding of Tax concepts, regulations, and planning strategies, with the ability to apply them to diverse client situations.
- Proficiency in Accounting and Financial Statements, including analysis, reconciliation, and support for tax reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA license or active candidacy strongly preferred.
- Several years of progressive public accounting or tax-focused experience, ideally in a client-facing environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters in clear, practical terms.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficiency with tax preparation and accounting software, along with strong Excel skills.
