Signal Centers is looking for an organized and detail-oriented payroll professional with a strong customer service mindset to provide accurate, efficient and timely administration of the organization's functional areas of payroll.
Qualifications- Associate's degree or higher in Business, Accounting, Human Resources or a related field
- Prior experience administering payroll for a company larger than 100 employees.
- Strong knowledge of payroll best practices, payroll tax laws, and wage & hours laws.
- Prior experience in non-profit or governmental accounting is preferred but not required.
- Prior experience with UKG Ready is strongly preferred.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) Certification is preferred.
- Expert level Microsoft Excel usage, in addition to strong skills in other Microsoft products.
- Attention to detail and dedication to internal customer service as core strengths.
The most important and essential expectation of this position is attitude, which includes the following: interfacing positively and cooperatively with co-workers in the HR and Accounting departments, responding politely and timely to agency employees, functioning under time constraints and responding positively to all levels of management and working with vendors in a positive and professional manor which represents the agency well.
- Administer and optimize payroll operations, both daily and on the bi-weekly processing schedule, ensuring pre-processing accuracy and data integrity.
- Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, final processing, and review of changes that impact payroll, such as new hires, benefit enrollments, terminations, and pay changes. Audits for other changes regularly, research discrepancies including issuing credits for any over payments of benefits and working with employees to arrange payment if they are behind in their premiums.
- Acts as the administrator for the timesheet system in UKG Ready, including providing training & user support, reports, corrections, including auditing time and attendance system for integrity.
- Completes Payroll Processes for employee changes, new hires, terminations, etc.
- Maintain comprehensive and confidential payroll records and documentation, ensuring adherence to legal requirements, audit requirements and adherence to retention policies
- Processes garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, quarterly tax verifications, and worker compensation reports.
- Performs year end responsibilities to include expenses, group term life, and W-2 verification and mailing
